Flower Carnival

There was a long silence here, as work was started after summer holiday. (Teaching math, physics and informatics in a high school.)

Every year, 20th of August, decorated flower cars, accompanying with dance and performance groups from all over the world, are passing along the city of Debrecen on a 5 kms long route. The parade day and festival week is closed by fireworks and street party.
Using my photos I made digital pages and a flipping book. Fireworks photos are from haon.hu.

New release - Sketch Abc

I uploaded to DigitalScrapInk my new alphabets called Sketch Abc I-II. Contains: full uppercase and lowercase abc, 2 punctuation marks, 10 digits in png format. All of them are also in .abr format (brush) for Photoshop CS3.

Teacher's day

In Hungary Teacher's day is on first Sunday of June.

I used cans to make 6 buckets like this.

Credits: empty can, wire, glue, embellishments, insulation stripe.

1. Open the can with care to avoid sharp edges.

2. Remove label and ask your husband to make holes on it for ears.

3. Glue a paper round the can! After it punch the paper at the holes!

4. Tape upper edge with the stripe!

5. Cut out a piece of paper and glue it to the inner side! And again, do not forget the holes!

6. Cut the wire of desired length and bend it! String on it everything you want! Including the tag! Bend inner edges of the wire to the can's side towards the ear itself!

7. Decorate the bucket with embellishments!

8. And finally fill up with some gifts. Some candies, pencil/pen for teachers, as things always needed.

And your child could take it to the school or kindergarten!

Recipe book

Two years ago I started a recipe book for my sister. Here is the first post. At long last I finished. (Though new pages could be added later. ;))

The cover is a wordcloud, made using a free application. Inner pages are glued and laminated together. On the back I stamped with CreatiWitches: Only You stamp, and wrote there her name.

Every page has a different design, but the stamp indicating cooking time is on every single page. Dividers are of cheerful colored cardstock, also laminated.

Pictures were taken right after lamination, look a bit crinkly, so light is refracted strangely on the pages. After 2 days and 3 volumes of Larousse encyclopedia all pages became smooth. :))

Printable easter eggs - freebie

There will be Easter Egg Hunting at DigitalScrapInk between 3 and 5 of April. Every designer created several surprise eggs containing freebies or coupons. I have 5. These eggs will be hidden somewhere on the site, and who finds an egg can use the inherited coupon or download the freebie.

My eggs are traditional Hungarians, red and patterned.

This is a freebie in png format. If you'd like to download, look for it on DSI:

I created a printable version also. Perfect for card making, I also used it. :))

Eggs were printed on fabric, cut off and glued to the folded cardstock. Felicitations were also printed, looked for color fitting paper for upper part, cut with scalloped scissors. Chalked round with red and that's all.

Welcome babies!

Shortly, several of my friends are becoming mother (again). I've already created cards for two of them.

One of the wooden buttons is painted with white acrylic paint, other with blue cat-eye ink. I've also used scalloped punches and scalloped scissors.

Valentine bag

A year ago there were truffles and heart shape box. :)) This year I wanted some different. Not a box but a bag. I made a template, cut it out of a kraft paper and made a heart shape window on it. Stamped on it with the Csipetnyi szeretet set. There are elements in it which allows to stamp continuous pattern.

I cut a slot on the bag's edge for the ribbon and stuck there.
Using the Only You set, stamped on a sheet, put it onto a purple cardstock and fixed with a purple fabric brad.

Christmas Card and Truffle Box

Here are the Christmas cards I sent to my friends and relatives this year.

Christmas comes hand in hand with truffles! ;) I made a bigger portion than last time and rolled in different coatings.

I made boxes of 10,5 cm x 10,5 cm to put 9 truffle balls in each and embellished their top.

Edited the labels, printed and stuck to the boxes. Finally tied top with red ribbon.

It was a long time ago that I last published a new kit. It was for a reason, or more ;):

1. I'm back to work, teaching maths and informatics in a highschool again.
2. We launched out on an enterprise with Bobo: the CreatiWitches, making acrylic stamps, p.e. for scrapbookers. Let's visit us, even if our site is only in Hungarian for the present, but the pictures are internationals! ;)
3. As (due to the global crisis) there is a great fluctuation in the scrapbook market also, I've contracted with a new store: DigitalScrapInk. As my life is very hectic these days, I'm perfectly content just to have one store.

During the passed days I've created an autumn kit worth to check in the new store!

The third was created by Hana. I love it very much, especially the stamped text on the foil.

New DT creations are here, they were made using Simon Says Clear Stamps HELLO FLOWERS Exclusive Set.

It was combined with Tim Holtz inks:

foil, yellow cardstock

The base is a template from a recent post. Flowers were cut with scalloped circle punch from foil and colored with alcohol ink. Stamped on it with Versamark ink and wiped its surface. Ink removed paint from the foil, so the pattern showed itself.
Yellow cardstock was put behind them, stamped flowers' stems with Simon Says Clear Stamps SWIRLS ALIGN Exclusive Set and sticked with 3d glue.

2. Erika's card:

Staz-On White Opaque Ink Pad
yellow and red cardstocks

Stamped on red cardstock with Staz-On, then cut round the flower shapes.
Letters were printed using Pupcat font, sticked to a thick cardstock and cut round.
Stamped on yellow cardstock with red, sticked the red flowers using 3D glue and the whole card was sewed round with my sewing machine.
Sticked the letters and finally put jewels to the flowers' center.

Making this card I've used glossy photopaper. Stamped on it with Versamark ink, embossed with Clear embossing powder, then painted the card with alcohol ink.
Overlaid with a white cardstock and heated with the iron for some seconds. So the pattern became totally white.
A little decoration and the card was already finished!

You were on the right way, there are sand, starfish and seashell in the kit. ;) And it's not over yet! :O

For Teachers' Day

In Hungary Teachers' Day is celebrated on first Sunday of June. This year I planned to make something for 2 school teachers and 2 kindergarten teachers.

Surfing on the net I've found similar wooden boxes. They are very imaginative. I've made the templates from cardstock in 2 different forms, pieced them together and embellished also.

For kindergarten teachers:

Its template is a freebie, downloadable and printable in both A4 and letter sizes. The template is in pdf files and composed of 2 pieces. You can glue the pieces together before putting on the cardstock or cut the pieces separately.

I've made different ribbons - used on school teachers' boxes - for almost every subjects. The ribbons of math and grammar are freebies in pdf and png formats. There are 2+2 ribbons on the A5 sized printable pdf.

Bolhapiac (my Hungarian blog) is going to be 2 years old exactly 6 weeks from now. So I thought about: let's play together during these 6 weeks!

So, what this game is about: every week (a week is between Thursdays, ends at Thursday 24:00 CEST) I publish a freebie with 6 elements to this blog.
Different type of embellishments each week. (E.g. 6 buttons, 6 flowers, etc.) So if you collect all, you'll have a freebie kit containing 36 assorted pieces matching in color and style.
To increase difficulty I'll not tell you in advance the day of the week publishing the next freebie, and you'll have a limited time to get that freebies. 2 days for the first 2 occasions, but only 24 hours for the rest.

Mini-book for Dédi

It was made for Dédi (great-grandma in Hungarian) as a Mother's Day gift. (In Hungary Mother's Day is celebrated on first Sunday in May.)
Only some decorations, no tricky solutions, without much text and no quote, as Dédi cannot see well by now. Hope she'll like it! :))

This page was made using a printed green paper from my Grandma kit:

The following page has some fluid pearls, a lace from the bottom of the wardrobe and a Making Memories checked ribbon:

On the last pair of pages there is Dédi together with her 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The embellishments are printed parts of the Grandma kit, a Making Memories ribbon and some stamps.

Starting from today I'm selling my own designs in a webshop.

I'm so pleased and proud that my unique designs and creations are so appreciated.

It's a great honor and a big new task also to continue creating high level designs for all who loves my works. I'm in no lack of enthusiasm and ideas. :))

Of course, there will be "surprise" freebies on this site in the future too.

My first work to sell is a cheerful, easter coloured, waterpainting-like kit and alpha with freehand drawings.

Below is a layout I've made using my kit. Lelle turned 5 last week and I wanted to immortalize her former "faces" in a layout. It was made for Klári's challenge on scrap.hu.

Easter cards - DT

I like the egg-shape stamp from Simon Says Clear Stamps SWIRLS ALIGN Exclusive Set! very much. In January I had an idea of a small basket to put red chocolate eggs in it. And by now it's created.

Credits:

This card has a set of origins. Mimosa is the color for the year 2009 by Pantone. This month's theme on scrap.hu is the scalloped shape. The weekly challenge of BasicGreyChallenges is about textured cards, so I used dry embossing on the cardstock with the help of my daughter's kitchen. :))

Idea of the suspension card is from Dawn's video.
The basket template is a 14x13cm rectangle folded in the way that the central part is sized to be 6x5cm. Corners and sides are cut as you can see here.

Finally I used the remains of the papers to make another easter card of similar color set.

Graffiti abc

I've completed the abc for my graffiti kit.

The tutorial below shows you a way to use these letters.

1. Put your letters on the background and merge the letters' layers.

2. Click on the layer thumbnail with CTRL+right mouse button to select the outline of the text.

3. In the menu: Select --> Modify --> Expand, and write in a value that is good for you.

4. Use Paint Bucket Tool from Tools palette and choose a color to fill the outline with. (Orange for me)

5. Select text's outline again! (CTRL+right click on the layer thumbnail)

6. Click on the background layer to make it active! Edit --> Copy (CTRL+C), Edit --> Paste (CTRL+V) A new layer appears: text shape, filled with background pattern.

7. On this new layer: Image --> Adjustments --> Desaturate!

8. Set layer's Blend mode to Hard Light, and Opacity to 60-80%. (As you wish.)

9. Merge two text layers!

10. Use Eraser tool with brush type Grunge on the text, so it becomes shabby.

And that's all. :))

Graffiti mini-kit

A graffiti inspired me to start a new mini-kit. Now it's completed, use it for your pleasure!

I was searching for photos to use with this kit. They were taken on a company organized family weekend last year. I used Newspaper Clipping Generator too. Title of the layout: Competition, the quote: "When the game is over is really just beginning."

Winter mini book

Winter came back, so I quickly finished my winter mini book. :)) (Its title: Snow-album)

I used papers from winter kit of scrap.hu, printable elements of my winter digi kit (hungarian version) printed on A5 sheet and Wordle.net's word-cloud generator.

Base of the album is my own idea and creation. I cut the appropriate shape from a thick cardstock, 3 times the same. There are also simple circle sheets and 2 foil sheets. I rotated the sheets (60° for 6 ears, 45° for 8 ears) and made holes for the ring. Foil and circle sheets do not put to trouble. :)

First pair of pages: (printable embellishments, snowflake punches, brad)

Second pair of pages: (brad, ribbons, foil sheet with white snowflakes)

Third pair of pages: (acryl snowflake, printable embellishments, snowflake punches)

Fifth pair of pages: (snowflake punches, word clouds tag, button, word label punch, foil sheet with white comments)

Last pair of pages: (brad, acryl snowflake, snowflake punches, arrow shape commentstamp)

Easter card -DT

When I got into Simon's DT and I chose a stamp set, I came to like this piece of Simon Says Clear Stamps SWIRLS ALIGN Exclusive Set very much. It reminds me of easter eggs. (In Hungary at Easter Monday boys sprinkle girls, who give red painted eggs in return.)
I have a plenty of ideas to create with this stamp, this card is only a simple "apetizer", painted with watercolor pencil.

I've made a new hybrid kit for scrap.hu. This time the theme was Love & Valentine.

In addition to traditional red I put pink, and I could not omit my favourite green. I created a damask pattern paper too. It's very trendy and anyway I like fabric patterns very much.
As this is a a hybrid kit, it also contains a printable pdf file for traditional paper scrappers.

Triangle tri fold card DT

A card again.
I do not disclose who I created for, because there are so many friends of mine, who have birthday or name day in this part of year. :))

This is a triangle tri fold card. The base cardstock is 9 cm x 27 cm (9cm x 9cm after folding).
The two Simon Says Clear Stamps SWIRLS ALIGN Exclusive Set stamps are hindering the card from opening spontaneously. Stick them to the base the way they lock each other when the card is closed. It's empty inside, as the message is a secret yet.

Valentine project DT

We don't celebrate Valentine's day on 14th of February. We do on any day. :)) For example today. :))
This project has 3 origins:

1. When I made some box templates, I had an idea of a heart shape box.
2. I want to make truffles since ages. Mályvacsiga recently sent me a a good recipe of it.
3. As a member of Simon Says Stamp DT I chose SWIRLS ALIGN Exclusive Set to work with.

So the brainchild was assembled: "Let's make a heart shape box with Simon's stamp on it and fill with truffles." Below you can see the outcome. Box + truffles + card as a bonus.

You can follow box creation steps here:

Recipe for truffles:
20 decagrams of dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa solids
1.5 decilitres of heavy cream
Bourbon vanilla powder
30 grams of butter
small size orange peel chips (outer skin only) -optional
a small amount of alcoholic drink -optional

Boil cream with vanilla powder, set aside and let cool.
Melt chocolate with butter over steam. Add chocolate, orange peel and alcoholic drink to cold cream and mix them. Pour it into a form. (p.e.: heart shape)
Put to refrigerator to harden for a day. Take out from form and roll in cocoa powder.

Mounted summer photos - DT

After the mounted winter photo project I've finished a summer one too. This time I used one continuous board and painted with yellow acrylic paint. I cut round photos and cardstock pieces with paper edgers. Next to the boys I put yellow ribbons, Lelle got two stamps (the branch and the heart) from Simon Says Clear Stamps SWIRLS ALIGN Exclusive Set. I used glue pad and yellow velvet flock. I attached Lelle's photo with dimensionals.

I've chosen this Simon Says Clear Stamps SWIRLS ALIGN Exclusive Set to publish. It could be used in many projects. This project is not the first idea to use the set for, but for that we must wait until next week. :))

Winter (hybrid) kit

I am so excited to be a part of Simon Says Stamps Winter Design Team. Especially as I'm a digital scrapbooker mainly, but I love to create traditional SB cards and mini-book too.
There are 5 more Hungarian scrappers in the DT and I'm eager to know what they create with their exclusive stamps. :))

Now I'm not disclosing what stamp I've choosen. It will become clear soon. :))

Yes, a gift to my sister. Again. :))

Poor little thing gets her gifts (birthday, name day, Christmas) within a month and half, and nothing for the rest of the year. :O

Happy Birthday!

I publish one of her gifts, although this datebook is not yet finished. But the concept is clear.

I put her monogram on the front painted with red acryl and repainted with pearly watercolour. For the lock I used red felt, a small round magnet, a steel flat washer and a plasticine button (a present from Szilvi) to its top.Pictures of some inner pages:

If you'd like to create a datebook like this, you need 13 pages of cardboard (8.5x13 cm). Make holes for the rings on each pages. I've punched the holes at 3.5 cm from top and bottom also.

Design cards to put on pages using the psd template below or just print ready cards from the pdf file. Their size is 6x10 cm. Cut all cards' corners.

Choose 28, 30, 31 day cards according to the months, stick them onto the pages and decorate as you wish. And it's already finished!
